Hi!
My name is Shireen
(that’s me and my husband)
I am drawn to portraiture because it allows me to study presence, not just appearance. It’s not about aiming for strict realism. I like to focus on the subtle, often unspoken aspects of a person, the quiet expressions, the atmosphere that surrounds them, their essence. Ultimately, my work is about connection, between artist and subject, and between image and viewer.
In 2023, I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Temple University. Since graduating, I have continued my artistic training under Randall Graham at Graham Painting Studio and some studying from Oliver Sin. Through my ongoing practice, I am dedicated to honing my craft and pushing the boundaries of my artistic vision. Each piece I create is a step in my journey that pushes me forward.
